A Space

What is A Space?

A Space is a short, school-supervised certification that trains student-athletes to notice when a teammate is struggling, support them the right way, and get them to a trusted adult.

Be the reason someone believes in good.

Why A Space exists

Student-athletes balance school, sport, and a social life all at once — and athlete culture can make stress easy to hide. When a teammate is struggling, the people most likely to notice first are the ones next to them every day: their teammates.

Most of us are never taught what to do in that moment. A Space fills that gap with a simple, practical framework any athlete can learn in under half an hour.

A Space is

Educational peer support: learning to notice, listen, support within boundaries, and connect a teammate to help. It ends in a certificate you can show for it.

A Space is not

Therapy, diagnosis, or a substitute for professional care. In a crisis, always call or text 988 or reach a trusted adult right away.

Our mission

To give every student-athlete the confidence and skills to be there for a teammate — to notice, to say the right thing, and to help them reach an adult who can support them. Small moments of showing up, multiplied across a team.

You'll learn to:

  • Understand the pressure student-athletes carry
  • Recognize the warning signs a teammate is struggling
  • Know what to say — and what not to say
  • Listen and support within healthy boundaries
  • Know when and how to bring in a trusted adult

How it works

Four topics, eight short lessons, and one final — each lesson has audio you can do on any device, on your own time.

  • Under 30 minutes total
  • Pass each quiz 5/5 to move on
  • Earn your certificate at the end
